NOT ALL SEALS ARE ALIKE!

As you know, almost every American automobile parts manufacturer is now sourcing the bulk of their product line overseas. Many US companies have sold their names to foreign interests. There is now a new company in India called Moog - they didn't bother to buy the US company; they just used their name.

This isn’t just a migration of jobs, it’s an evacuation of our manufacturing sector. They have left the building. You can no longer assume the country of origin, even with names like Moog® and Raybestos® and Wagner®.

This rush to save a buck has impacted our little corner of the world. Unless you buy from us, virtually every other brake caliper seal you can buy for your C2 / C3 Corvette is made overseas, but that is not the problem. The problem is that the overseas seals don’t work. The original seal GM designed for these pistons was unique in that it had two sealing surfaces. Calipers didn’t leak. Now they do, and the same people who are selling the junk seals are touting O-ring pistons to ‘solve the problem’.

The large national caliper rebuilders are using these cheap seals, with predictable results. We are not. We still use the original design seals, and we will never switch.

OURS DON'T LEAK!
